Heart of Addiction gives biblical tools to help you examine your heart.

Heart of Addiction gives biblical tools to help you examine your heart's motives at the root of your addiction. Nearly every common behaviour problem is considered to be a "disease" in our culture today: gambling, overeating, excessive time spent on the Internet, stealing, rebellious behaviour, and emphatically drugs and alcohol, the Bible tells us it’s a sin not a disease.
God's Word lovingly tells us the truth about the "heart of addiction," yet it is a neglected resource for those who suffer from these so-called "addictions." One of the reasons for this is that people choose to believe the theories and ideas of mankind that the "disease" renders them powerless to overcome the problem. The truth is you are not powerless to say "no" to choices that will mentally enslave you.
This program makes the distinction between what the world terms a "disease" and what the scripture demonstrates is a life-dominating sin nature problem.

The Motivation of Celebrate Recovery is to recognise God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and the 8 Recovery Principles. Celebrate recovery was written by Pastors Rick Warren and John Baker. It is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the Beatitudes and addresses life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. This experience allows us to "be changed".
We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our lives problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, dysfunctional and combustable behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

A workbook to increase your meaningful, purposeful goals

During quiet moments, do you ever feel an emptiness gnawing at your inner self, a sense of boredom, frustration, directionlessness? Do you find yourself worrying about what you have accomplished or not accomplished, painfully aware that your lifespan decreases each day? Does facing these questions -- truly facing them -- cause you uneasiness? Many people experience such disquieting feelings. They lack a clear idea of where they are headed in their lives. They lack the powerful guidance of deeply personal goals. Perhaps they have a few such goals but not enough to quell their uneasiness. They need to increase their Meaningful and Purposeful Goals (MPGs).

A program based on the works and philosophy of Viktor Frankl.

Individual Counseling techniques

REBT

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is a short-term form of psychotherapy that helps you identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the rationality of those feelings, and replace them with healthier, more productive beliefs. REBT focuses mostly on the present time to help you understand how unhealthy thoughts and beliefs create emotional distress which, in turn, leads to unhealthy actions and behaviours that interfere with your current life goals. Once identified and understood, negative thoughts and actions can be changed and replaced with more positive and productive behaviour, allowing you to develop more successful personal and professional relationships.

Adlerian Therapy

Adlerian therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented, and positive psychodynamic therapy based on the theories of Alfred Adler. Adler focused much of his research on feelings of inferiority versus superiority, discouragement, and a sense of belonging in the context of one’s community and society at large. According to Adler, feelings of inferiority can result in neurotic behaviour but, in the right setting, can also be used as motivation to strive for greater success. Adlerian therapy focuses on the development of individual personality while understanding and accepting the interconnectedness of all humans.

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of psychotherapy directed at present-time issues and based on the idea that the way an individual thinks and feels affects the way he or she behaves. The focus is on problem-solving, and the goal is to change clients' thought patterns to change their responses to difficult situations. A CBT approach can be applied to a wide range of mental health issues and conditions.

Relapse is a very real fear to the recovering addict. As part of our program, we cover extensive relapse prevention strategies in order to safeguard our graduates as best as possible. Together with their assigned professional counsellor, our graduates will cover triggers, dangerous situations to avoid, warning signs, accountability, financial control and risk mitigation.

Through our years of experience and having assisted thousands of people through the program, we have found that the best possible way to prevent relapse is through accountability and fulfilment.

Assistance in finding gainful employment whilst still being held accountable financially and physically in a safe environment is key.

Redemption Hill Ministries has formed, registered and manages several enterprises in partnership with successful graduates with the intention of employing graduates directly after their successful program completion. The type of business is diverse and if there isn’t one suitable for a graduates skill set, we will create one and partner with them to ensure fulfilment, accountability and ultimately success.
